An entrepreneur based in Lagos, Nigeria, Akanimo Udofia has developed his leadership skills over a three-decade-long career. Away from work, Akanimo Udofia enjoys few things more than being on the water and can often be found jet skiing.
If docking your personal watercraft (PWC) in the water, consider the following.
As you approach the dock, reduce your speed so you are idling along the water. Examine the dock to check for an available cleat and cut the engine when you are confident you can coast into position. Remember that you will not be able to steer with the engine turned off.
When you come to a stop, dismount from the PWC while still maintaining your grip on it and tie the rope around the handlebars before securing it on the cleat.
Use a second rope and tie it to the back of the vehicle. The location of this know will depend on your brand of PWC, but there should usually be either a cleat or handle that you can use. Once the rope is tied, secure it to the same cleat, and the vehicle should stay in place until you are ready to use it again.
